Navigating Neurodivergence with A Wiser Mind Coaching

About A Wiser Mind

A Wiser Mind Coaching was established with a simple purpose -  to help adults discover and navigate their neurodivergence.

I specialise in working with adults who have ADHD or AuDHD (Autism and ADHD). My goal is to help you understand your unique brain wiring, navigate your challenges, and leverage your strengths to achieve your personal and professional aims.

How A Wiser Mind Coaching Can Help

Generic strategies might work for some individuals who are neurodivergent, but before jumping into strategies we need to understand what your ADHD or AuDHD brain is doing, what it is needing and what it is telling us before customising a strategy unique to your brain wiring.

We focus on three core areas to help you move forward:

Awareness

Understanding your neurodivergence and how it influences your life.

Knowledge

Learning about your strengths and what works for you and providing insights from the latest neuroscience and research to help inform your personal strategies.

Acceptance

Creating a supportive environment where you can embrace your strengths and challenges.

Invest in Yourself

Coaching is an investment in your future. Unfortunately, too many individuals with ADHD and AuDHD struggle in silence without the support they need. But with the right support, you can take charge of your ADHD or AuDHD and move forwards.

For those with both Autism and ADHD, I recognise the unique challenges and interactions between the two. My approach is deeply informed by an understanding of these differences, and we work together to develop personalised solutions tailored to your needs.
Remember, "when you’ve met one person with ADHD or AuDHD, you’ve met one person with ADHD or AuDHD."

"I was very happy with the coaching I received from David."

"He was totally interested in me as a person, which led to some really cool questions, and unlocked thought processes and a level of self-insight that I wasn't expecting. I've come out with some improvements already made, but also more I need to work on!"

Frequently Asked Questions

Get answers to your questions and learn more about how our coaching can support your ADHD/AuDHD journey.

  • What exactly is ADHD or AuDHD coaching?
Think of ADHD or AuDHD coaching as having a co-pilot who's well-versed in the ins and outs of ADHD and AuDHD. Your coach helps you understand how these types of neurodivergence impact your life and gradually helps you build strategies to tackle executive function challenges like time blindness, motivation, organisation, and attention. We’ll also tackle emotional regulation, procrastination and any other hiccups that might pop up. Plus, it’s a great space to reflect on your strengths and map out your future goals.
  • How is an ADHD or AuDHD coach different from a therapist?
Coaching is very much driven by the client. The coach helps a client get really clear on their goals, find solutions for areas of challenge and focus on what is possible in the present moment. The coach also focuses on practical strategies and solutions for daily life challenges, while a therapist might explore deeper emotional or psychological issues. Coaching is action-oriented and future-focused, helping the client create tangible changes in their life.
  • What’s the process like?
Assuming after the intro call we wish to proceed, we typically meet online via video conference for 50-minute sessions, either two or three times a month to start with. Before each session, I’ll send you a prep form to get your brain gears turning. I also provide exercises, forms, and handy info through my coaching portal. Coaching is a journey, and like any good road trip, it takes a bit of time to see the scenery. But stick with it, and you’ll start to notice positive changes—without needing to ask, “Are we there yet?”
  • How can coaching save me time and energy?
Working with an ADHD/AuDHD coach allows you to efficiently use your time and energy by collaborating with someone who can help you discover new strategies and approaches tailored to your specific needs.
  • How will ADHD or AuDHD coaching boost my confidence and motivation?
Coaching focuses on building your confidence, fostering self-acceptance, and boosting your motivation. By working through challenges together, you'll develop a stronger belief in your abilities.
  • What role does the ADHD or AuDHD coach play in my journey?
Your coach is your go-to ally, your accountability partner, your cheerleader, and your sounding board—all rolled into one. I’m here to encourage you, guide you, and help keep you on track toward your goals, even if that means a few friendly nudges along the way.
  • Why is ADHD coaching great for verbal processors?
If you’re someone who thinks out loud, coaching is your playground. Many people with ADHD process their thoughts verbally, so coaching provides the perfect space to talk through ideas and obstacles. I’ll listen, empathise, and challenge you with compassion.
  • Is coaching focused on specific outcomes?
Absolutely! ADHD or AuDHD coaching is all about action and outcomes. We’ll focus on the present issues and create a game plan for achieving your future goals.
  • How can an ADHD or AuDHD coach provide effective solutions?
With a well-trained coach, you get someone who can cut through the noise and offer practical techniques and solutions. Thanks to my extensive training, research and desire to continually learn and improve within this field, I aim to bring together my knowledge and aim to help you move forwards.
  • Can coaching help me recognise my strengths?
Definitely! ADHD and AuDHD coaching is a space where your strengths take centre stage. Often, strengths get overlooked in discussions about ADHD or AuDHD, but here, we make sure they are addressed.
  • What results can I expect from working with an ADHD and AuDHD coach?
Clients can experience improved self-awareness, better coping strategies, enhanced daily functioning, and a greater sense of control over their lives. The coach will also help you measure your progress over time.
  • What if we realise after a few sessions that we’re not a good fit?
No worries at all! I believe in open communication, and if we find that the dynamic isn’t quite right, I’ll politely suggest we part ways. I’ll even help you find another coach who’s better suited to your needs if you wish. It’s all about finding the right match—like online dating, but for your brain.
  • Are you ready for coaching?
Coaching is most effective when you’re open to new perspectives, willing to take action, and committed to personal growth. If you’re looking for guidance, structure, and accountability, and you’re ready to invest time and energy into yourself, coaching could be a great fit.
  • Are you able to accept people through the UK Government programme - Access to Work?
At present I only work with clients who are able to pay upfront. However, a client may be able to claim back any coaching fees which may be covered through the Access to Work scheme.
